With addiction widespread in society, psychotherapists inevitably treat addicted patients who also have other diagnoses. Patients who — along with their depression, anxiety and personality problems have addiction to drugs, food and compulsive behavior. This seminar examines the challenges therapists face and the strengths and weaknesses of psychotherapy in treating this population.
Dr. Leora Bar-Levav, M.D. is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice in Southfield, Michigan. She is a faculty supervisor of IIGP and has also served Michigan Group Psychotherapy Society previously as secretary and as a Nominating Committee member, as well as being a presenter at MGPS scientific meetings and institutes. She is a clinical member of AGPA, a regular presenter at AGPA annual meetings and diplomat of the American Psychotherapy Association.
